Pakistan’s Cricket Coach Poisoned & Strangled

I understand that being competitive is an influential ingredient in the success of sports, but there is a limit (not visible) that one should stick to. Killing someone is totally outrageous, and that too, for a sport!Bob Woolmer was poisoned, according to BBC’s reports, and also strangled.

Why is all this violence happening just for a game? And we tell kids not to fight over a game! Nonsense… adults possess the same child-like qualities of fighting over a game, but to a greater level!

The reasons as to why he was killed is still up for question although, it is obvious it was regarding the cricket matches going on at the time for the Cricket World Cup of 2007.

It is sad to know that people are actually willing to kill others just for a game!

Biased Referees

It was evident throughout the course of the game between Germany and Argentina that the referees were in favour of Germany.

I have never seen so many rough fouls go by unnoticed or dealt with minimal punishment. I mean, you either had to be blind or completely new to soccer to consider that “normal.”

I swear, to be a soccer player means equally enough to be an amazing actor. With a minor hand touch one of the German players trips himself and holds onto his face… “ah buddy, his hand touched your leg!” And to watch the referees give him a penalty shot for that was absolutely RIDICULOUS!

I expected better from Germany…

By watching this game, I came to the conclusion that no matter where the world cup is played, the referees will favour their own country’s team… the team of the land hosting the cup.

If juries are carefully chosen according to “biases” held for the accused then, similarly, referees should be chosen with such minute care as well.

People drag their butt, money and emotions to a different country to watch their own country’s team play/win. The least that country (the host) can do is give them a fair match to watch.
